BBC Sportsound pundit slaughters Rangers for ‘absolutely horrific’ incident at Ibrox v Aberdeen

Former Gers forward Steven Thompson said that Rangers’ goal against Aberdeen was “absolutely horrific.”

On Tuesday, February 6, at Ibrox, Rangers held off Aberdeen as Neil Warnock took over as manager for the first time. The game ended in a thrilling 2-1 victory that saw Dujon Sterling sent off.
As Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski equalized at Ibrox on February 6, Thompson criticized his former team in an interview with BBC Sportsound.

I believe Rangers have occasionally wasted opportunities in the last third. It was a terrible goal to lose for a team that has been playing such strong defense and giving up so few goals.

“Miovski executed it flawlessly, and it completely deflates the Rangers fan base.” They are aware of the significance of tonight’s game.

For the Rangers, all is well that ends well

Philippe Clement won’t be too upset in the end because his team managed to cross the finish line and score a huge

three points. It is difficult to disagree with Thompson, though, and the Belgian player will probably be unhappy with

the way his team let Warnock’s team back into the game.

Even though it didn’t matter much in the end, it was a preventable error and things could have turned out

differently. From a Rangers perspective, Connor Goldson in particular was left with a sour taste in his mouth due to

a number of careless aspects of the goal. Clement would not have been happy that he let the ball bounce and Miovski

overcome him, and the fact that the goal came just before halftime did not help the situation.

Although it won’t matter much in the big picture, the Gers can’t afford to keep making errors like these when they are

vying for the championship with Celtic.
