The analyst, who was co-commentating on Sky Sports Football at 8:38 p.m., described the Welsh international’s performance

as “absolutely sensational” as he took on multiple Dons players.

However, he said that the 23-year-old ought to have concentrated on his own shooting since, during the Gers’ 2-1 victory at Ibrox,

the winger wavered on whether or not to play the ball to Cyriel Dessers, and his attempt was stopped by a covering defender.

“It is absolutely sensational play from Matondo,” said Miller. “It’s an incredible pass from Todd Cantwell.

He turns the Aberdeen defence inside out.

“But he’s looking to slide Dessers in. He’s looking for his teammate, but he should have just been focused on the shot.”

Rabbi Matondo showed what he can offer for Rangers

It was one of a number of bright moments from Matondo for Rangers as he looks to force his way into the reckoning

for more regular minutes at Ibrox.

After just seven minutes of play, he scored his fourth goal of the season against Aberdeen to put the Gers on the scoreboard.

The Welshman got relatively few starts in the last several months after being injured when Philippe Clement joined the team.

Although the winger definitely ought to have taken advantage of his opportunity just before halftime, he appeared to

have some potential to cover for Abdallah Sima, who is expected to be out for several months.

In order to win more trophies this season, the Light Blues will need all of their attacking players

to step up during the next months.
