£11,000 per week player to present himself for medical ahead of Rangers exit
According to No Ataque, Jose Cifuentes will present himself for a physical at Cruzeiro in “a few days” as part of his long-awaited loan move from Rangers.
According to the Brazilian website [5 February], Cruzeiro’s signing of the midfielder is “close,”
but the player will not arrive at the club until after Carnival to undergo medical tests and sign a contract.
It is thought that he would stay at his Ecuadorian home beginning Friday,
February 9, due to a current bureaucratic delay in loan signature, awaiting labor papers.
End of a Rangers nightmare
Cifuentes’ misery at Ibrox appears to be coming to an end. When the midfielder signed during the Michael Beale era, he appeared to be a promising addition.
For a little period, the Colombian appeared to be the real deal, and Rangers had discovered a hidden gem. According to Sky Sports, the £1.2 million man sustained an injury, and the swap to Philippe Clement ended his promising Rangers career.

It’s not surprising that the Belgian isn’t impressed with Cifuentes. Clement has very high expectations at Ibrox, and the midfielder has yet to meet them, so a loan move is good for all sides.
A move to Brazil allows the player to get more comfortable and gain vital minutes, as the Gers are unlikely to include him in the squad every week. It is a win-win for all sides, and there is hope will be that Cruzeiro can rediscover Cifuentes’ prior form.
The 24-year-old is still a raw talent, and there’s no reason he can’t have a future at Ibrox if he improves his game during his loan term. During his three years in the MLS with LAFC, he demonstrated his abilities as a player.
Clement hopes the youngster returns to Ibrox after his loan spell in South America.
