Rangers Transfer News

Rangers transfer news: after a rival offer was denied, an update on talks emerged, and Jose Cifuentes Ibrox's exit approached 100%.

The January transfer window may be closed for another year,

but the Gers are still looking for prospective incoming and outgoing business moving forward.

Dwight Gayle, a free agent who left Championship side Stoke City on deadline day,

has been linked with a move to Ibrox.

It indicates he is available to join a new team in between transfer windows because he is not under contract with any current club.

Meanwhile, another rumor claims that Rangers could recruit Lawrence Shankland and Abdallah Sima on permanent contracts at the conclusion of the season,

should Philippe Clement’s team qualify for the Champions League.

On the other hand, one current Gers player appears to be leaving the club, according to a reliable source.

Jose Cifuentes is poised to quit the Rangers
According to Romano on X, Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes has agreed to a loan transfer to Cruzeiro,

effectively ending his tenure at Ibrox. This feels like a good move for all parties,

allowing Cifuentes the regular football that he no doubt craves,

having had to accept being on the periphery of things this season.

The 24-year-old has only started six Scottish Premiership games since arriving in the summer,

with three appearances as a substitute, and he could benefit from being on loan rather than having his progress stifled.

He has so much potential, with former Los Angeles FC general John Thorrington waxing poetic about him, saying:

“What I’ll say about Cifu is that, while he may not be the league’s best skilled midfielder, he’s up there.

I believe he has everything he needs to succeed. Thorrington continued,

“I’m not surprised to receive and hear of interest from high-level clubs in Europe.”

“We, as I said, analyze these opportunities on a case-by-case basis,

and we will cross that bridge whenThe aim is that Cifuentes will have a good time in Brazil with Cruzeiro in the coming months,

returning to Rangers as an even better player, maybe playing a key part in the squad next season.
