Who will pass the ball for the Denver Broncos in 2024 will be the main topic of discussion for the team going forward. Justifiably so, since it’s their most important unresolved issue and deserves top attention.

But there ought to be a legitimate debate about who will stand up for the pass. Patrick Surtain II is fantastic, but who is his supporter? K’Waun Williams and Fabian Moreau?

They are soon to be free agents and are unlikely to come back. Mathis Damarri? It was shown last season that he is not a starter. Moss Riley? A little too green still.

The Broncos need to fix their cornerback position because they only have Ja’Quan McMillian to rely on.

Pro Football Focus has the knowledge to help, as they suggest that the team sign Washington Commanders CB Kendall Fuller when the NFL’s signing period begins next month.

“Fuller has experience as both an inside and outside cornerback in the NFL but has predominantly out wide in recent years,” In January, Gordon McGuinness of PFF wrote. “He’ll be 29 years old when the 2024 NFL season begins, though so this might be the time when a move back to the slot makes sense. The Broncos didn’t roster any cornerbacks who earned a 65.0-plus PFF coverage grade in 2023, so investing in the position is necessary this offseason.”

Fuller, a ninth-year veteran, was selected by Washington in the third round of the 2016 NBA Draft. With the exception of a brief period with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2018 to 2019, when he won a Super Bowl, he has played most of his playing career in the nation’s capital.

Despite never being chosen for a Pro Bowl or earning All-Pro status, Fuller has quietly established himself as one of the top cover players in the game. As of the end of the 2023 season, he was ranked eighth among 127 qualifiers by Pro Football Focus for cornerbacks.

Over the course of 117 games (93 starts), Fuller has recorded 486 total tackles, 75 pass deflections, 16 interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns.
