Glasgow Rangers achieved their fourth Premiership victory in a row with a dominating triumph against Livingston at Ibrox this afternoon.

With Celtic falling behind Aberdeen in the midday kickoff, Philippe Clement didn’t need a team talk,

and the Gers were two goals up by halftime.

While they should have gone for the jugular in the second half, a Todd Cantwell goal clinched a 3-0 victory,

putting the Light Blues level on points with Celtic if they win their game in hand against Aberdeen on Tuesday.

It’s been a fantastic turnaround since October, and it appears that the January immigrants are finally settling in.

Fabio Silva scored his first goal for Rangers against Livingston.

Fabio Silva, a Portuguese forward, was joined on loan until the end of the season,

and he made only his second appearance for the Ibrox club, seizing the opportunity well.

Not only did he start the score, but the striker also looked dangerous,

demonstrating his ability to drop deep and link up with those around him rather than isolating himself in the opponent box.

Silva took four shots in all during his time on the field,

and he also missed a great chance despite making two vital passes and demonstrating his attacking abilities in front of a large audience.

The kid might play a key role in this year’s title race, and scoring his first goal for the club will boost his confidence.

Rabbi Matondo was another player who seized his opportunity in the starting lineup,

especially with new arrival Oscar Cortes providing competition on the left flank.

Facing a Livingston team that was forming a low block was not the most appealing proposition for the winger,

but he adjusted effectively throughout the first half.

Journalist Joshua Barrie praised his goal, which appeared to be the game-winner just before halftime.

He shouted, “Goal for Rangers – what a brilliant strike from Rabbi Matondo!”

“He had a mixed half against a crowded defence this time,

but as Rangers moved the ball side to side, he chops inside and finds the far corner. 2-0 for the hosts.”

The former Schalke star made 48 touches in his 61 minutes on the field,

and while he failed to provide a single accurate cross, Matondo did take four shots on goal,

posing a threat to the Livi defence.

His drive to challenge opponents resulted in him losing possession 17 times,

but his attitude was excellent during his time on the pitch,

and he eventually gave way for Cortes to make his Rangers debut.

With Abdallah Sima out injured for the foreseeable future,

Matondo and Cortes will compete for a berth on the left wing.

The Welshman’s performance this afternoon may not have been spectacular,

but it may have given Clement something to consider as he prepares for the next few games.
