Chris Sutton has issued a championship warning to Rangers and Celtic,

following their 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon.

The Hoops had to come from behind to secure a draw at Pittodrie,

giving Rangers the opportunity to narrow the gap at the top before of their encounter against

Livingston later in the afternoon.

And, in response to the defeat on his own Twitter account (3 February),

Sutton stated that the “title race is on” and suggested that they may have failed to

adequately prepare for the match against the Ibrox team.

“Great advert that for the Scottish game,” he wrote in one email.

“Aberdeen had an outstanding second-half performance against Celtic.

Celtic failed to bring in a left-back summed up when Bernabei was hooked in the second half.

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. The title race is on…”

Is Celtic crumbling?

Rangers fans assumed the title battle was finished when Michael Beale

was fired because we were already so far behind.

Many observers did not expect Celtic to struggle in the same way,

given how relentless they had been under Ange Postecoglou in previous seasons.

Now, fans and Sutton appear to understand that Celtic are not unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination,

and after strengthening in the January transfer window, Rangers have a terrific opportunity of going all the way.

Philippe Clement has come in and done an excellent job of steering the ship in the correct direction,

and he has also left his mark on the squad by letting players leave and bringing in his own choices.

If the season continues at this rate, the Gers will have the title to lose,

and we could see Ibrox celebrate number 56 in May.
