Galatasaray’s head coach Okan Buruk doesn’t seem to be ready to give up on the team’s pursuit of Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz, therefore the

team is still looking for a left-back.

The Turkish transfer window is about to close in six days. Galatasaray may have missed the opportunity to return Ridvan Yilmaz to the Bosphorus

banks, but the Super Lig contenders will not be easily defeated.

Galatasaray is expected to pursue further negotiations with Rangers. The valuations of the two clubs, however, differ by £2 million, with Buruk’s

willing to spend twice as much as Philippe Clement’s Glasgow giants are requesting for the former Besiktas flier.

Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Rangers will rush to reach a deal with Galatasaray given that Clement will not be able to find a replacement in

time for the busy final few months of a season that could still result in a Premiership title. The Scottish window closed two days ago.

Ridvan Yilmaz is still a Rangers player

“At left back, Kaan Ayhan, Baris Alper Yilmaz, and Berkan Kutlu have all performed admirably. Burak tells Sporx, “I am happy with all three of them,”

after being forced to push his team to the edge because of Galatasaray’s defensive shortcomings.

“Galatasaray management does as we please. We always have our president with us. We can use it in the

Turkish League if a transfer is required in the next days.

“We will assess the possibility of a transfer if it presents itself.”

Gers want £4m as Galatasaray offer £2m

Rangers were linked with a host of left-backs throughout January but the closest they came to landing one was when they agreed terms with

Fluminense to bring 20-year-old Jefte Vital to Ibrox.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks broke down after APOEL Nicosia – who signed Jefte on a season-long loan last summer – refused to cut short his

stay in Cyprus, with the Brazilian issuing an apology to his temporary employers after the window closed.

“To all APOEL fans, my team-mates, the coach, the president and the entire club staff, I would like to communicate my apology for being absent (from training).

At the time of the incident, I was not feeling in a position to help the club and I chose to leave,” Jefte explains.

“The institution deserves all my commitment, dedication and focus, as it has been in the last few months, and as it will be from now on.

“We remain stronger than ever and are now 100 per cent focused on the main objective of winning the championship.”
