The Glasgow giants still owe £42 million in transfer payables, according to their complete 2022–2023 financial reports that they

submitted to Companies House earlier this month (January 11).

The Ibrox club will have settled some of the debt by the beginning of the January window and the June deadline, but the bulk is due in the summer.

Because of this, Philippe Clement has had to operate within a tight budget this month. The club has only closed loan agreements

for Mohamed Diomande and Fabio Silva thus far.

On Monday, January 29, Football Insider disclosed that the Rangers are in advanced negotiations to sign Oscar Cortes,

and they also have two more signings in line.

It is known that the Gers are looking to recruit a new left-back before the deadline on Thursday,

but negotiations to get Fluminense’s star player Jefte have encountered difficulties.

Any transfer fees involved for the trio will likely be paid in instalments, adding to the club’s existing transfer debt.

In November, Football Insider disclosed that Rangers themselves owe £26 million in transfer payments.

Nevertheless, the team still owes £16 million in payables after incurring a $3 million deficit for the whole 2022–2023 season.

In other news, following a significant development, the Rangers modify their January transfer plan afterthought.
