Ridvan Yilmaz prior to the January transfer deadline on February 1.

On January 29, the Turkish news source announced via their X account that Yilmaz will join Galatasaray if the new

offer is accepted.

Jose Cifuentes also seems to be leaving Ibrox, as Turkish team Rizespor is reportedly interested in signing him, despite the

fact that he is reportedly not thrilled about moving to Turkey. [John Clark, January 28]

Edging closer and closer

This bid is an increase on their previous £2.5million bid [Yagiz Sabunchuoglu, 27 January], and edges them closer to the

reported asking price of £3.8million, although they may still have a way to go.

It would be fair to assume that the recent bid falls into the same category as those before it as a loan-to-buy offer from

Galatasaray, with the fee to be paid at the end of the season, but Rangers appear to be holding out for

their original asking price.

Yilmaz’s recent Ibrox performances won’t have helped the Turkish team’s hopes of getting the price lowered,

and Yilmaz’s management under Philippe Clement has started to noticeably improve his performances.

Since Borna Barisic’s injury thrust him into the starting lineup, the defender has put in a run of strong performances

at Ibrox, which may encourage Rangers to keep him after all, particularly if their demands are not satisfied.

Rangers has rejected several loan-to-buy approaches from Galatasaray, so it’s only a matter of time before one or both parties

modify their positions in order to close the transaction before the deadline of February 1st.

In other Rangers news, it’s anticipated that this week will see new transfer negotiations.
