Dak Prescott Sent To Pittsburgh Steelers In 1 Wild Trade Scenario
After Dak Prescott and company were eliminated from the NFL playoffs by the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round,
the Dallas Cowboys’ hopes of winning the Super Bowl in the 2023 NFL season came crashing down.
Fans and experts alike began to question whether it was time for the Cowboys to let go of Prescott after the team’s early
postseason elimination. Although it seems like a severe step for the Cowboys, is it possible that he will suit up for a different
team—perhaps the Pittsburgh Steelers—when the 2024 NFL season begins?
Dak Prescott to the Pittsburgh Steelers?
A fan brought up the possibility of Pittsburgh pursuing Dak Prescott in a trade;
Steelers Talk via Chat Sports recently discussed this topic.
But Jack Sperry of Steelers Talk shot that notion down right away for two very important reasons.
Dak Prescott is a costly asset, to start. He recently inked a $160 million, four-year contract extension with the Cowboys in 2021.
His astounding 2024 cap hit is $59 million. The Cowboys would have to swallow a harsh dead cap if they traded Prescott.
Sperry also believes that the Steelers would be unable to absorb the similar cap burden.
The Steelers aren’t happy with their quarterback position, for whatever reason.
Pittsburgh doesn’t seem to see Kenny Pickett as a long-term centerfield option.
By the end of the 2023 season, Mason Rudolph will be free agency, while Mitchell Trubisky will still be Mitchell Trubisky.
