Rangers v Dumbarton injury news: Doctor issues Nicolas Raskin update
Dr Rajpal Brar believes that Nicolas Raskin, a midfielder for the Rangers, has probably fully recovered
from his knee injury.
The injury expert has assessed his setback that saw him missing a few games but his return prior to the
winter break was viewed as a positive.
The Belgian also started the warm-up game against Copenhagen on 16 January as he builds up match
fitness ahead of the resumption of senior football.
The 22-year-old should be eligible for Saturday’s league match between the Gers and Dumbarton.
Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar spoke exclusively with Ibrox News about his circumstances. He said:
The fact that he came back indicates that he will probably keep taking part in team training throughout
the winter break in order to maintain his level of fitness.
“During the intermission, I would still anticipate him accruing match minutes.
“There’s a good chance he’s back to 100% and available for the first-team games as he’s also been playing in the warm-up games.
“Though not thought to be serious, the injury was on the upper leg.
“At first, I thought it might have been a knee knock from the contact.”
Before returning in the start of the new year, the 22-year-old’s last senior appearance for Rangers was back in October.
Raskin has looked promising since Philippe Clement has taken over but has not been fit enough to go on a run of games.
The Gers manager will be hoping that there is no re-injury for the defensive midfielder as he aims to close in on league leaders Celtic.
